Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Maximus Meridius (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fernandez Martinez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Martinez has chosen iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Meridius closes this distance looking for a takedown but Martinez circles away.

Meridius isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Martinez stacks Meridius on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Martinez!

Martinez stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Meridius stalks Martinez and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Martinez's face. Martinez staggers backwards, shaken.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Meridius had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Martinez is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Meridius Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Martinez's back instead.

Meridius is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Martinez has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

Martinez has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Meridius has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Martinez taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Meridius doesn't care though - he's delighted!
