Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jewel Bowman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ruslan Anara (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ruslan Anara will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bowman fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Bowman is looking to clinch but Anara is avoiding it.
Anara walks into a stiff left hand from Bowman.

Anara escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Bowman gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Anara is looking for a triangle but Bowman pushes his legs off easily.

Bowman drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Anara dives on top into guard.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Bowman is on top in guard.

Anara is looking to stand up but Bowman isn't so interested in that idea.

Anara is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Bowman is aware though and is defending well.

Anara has momentary wrist control but Bowman slips an elbow through the middle.
Anara really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bowman. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Anara is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Bowman gets his way!

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Bowman changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Anara tries to avoid it but Bowman manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Anara to the ground. Anara escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Bowman shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Anara as he avoids it easily.
Anara tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Bowman manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Bowman could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Anara shoots for a takedown but Bowman saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Anara tightens his grip and picks Bowman up, before dumping him to the ground. Bowman manages to land in guard.

Anara is looking to stand up but Bowman won't let him.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Anara can do anything to dispel that myth.
