PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Pootie Tang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ching Ching (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tang kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Pootie Tang. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Pootie Tang!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ching Ching!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tang darts in looking for a takedown but Ching gets double underhooks and turns Tang into the cage.
Ching feints a jab promting Tang to slip. Ching then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Tang slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Tang fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Ching avoids it really well and circles away.
Ching throws a head kick that misses.
Nice uppercut there from Ching.
Ching tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Tang gets cracked there but stands up to it.

Tang closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Ching did well to prevent Tang getting side control.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Ching is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Tang not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Ching is defending against the submission attempts here by Tang.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Tang throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Ching works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Ching is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Tang defends well.

Ching really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Tang. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Tang passes into half guard.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

We've been hearing that Tang has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

Ching is squirming around, avoiding Tang's attempts to control the action.
Ching tries to hold on but Tang postures up.

Tang swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Ching is now in Tang's guard. A big mistake from Tang there, giving up the dominant position!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Ching Ching will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Tang gets tackled into the cage by Ching. Ching maintains the clinch.

Ching lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.

Ching has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Tang is trying to keep an underhook but Ching manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Tang kicks Ching off and gets back to his feet.
This has been an exciting period of action!
A telegraphed right hand from Ching misses the target.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Ching!
Ching lands a glancing blow to the side of Tang's head.
Tang takes one to the chin there.

Ching moves into the clinch.
Tang drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Ching gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Ching lands with a short shot to the head.
Ching has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Ching lands a hook to the side of the head.

Tang is trying to drag Ching to the mat but Ching just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Tang goes for a takedown attempt but Ching pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Pootie Tang. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Nice uppercut lands for Ching. That snapped Tang's head back.
Ching works the jab nicely.
Ching throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Ching scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Good standup being displayed there by Ching as he connects with a hook.
Oh Tang is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Ching! Tang is out on his feet! Ching rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Tang is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Tang is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ching Ching!
Pootie Tang was interviewed post fight and said 'I will be back ganja.'.
