Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Sanzhar Nurpulaev!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Tarja Halkonen and Matti Vanhoillinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nurpulaev looking to land some kicks to the body here.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Fransson.
Fransson pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Nurpulaev back to the cage. Fransson follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.


It looks like Sanzhar Nurpulaev has been cut.
Nurpulaev shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Fransson pinned against the cage. Fransson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Nurpulaev tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Fransson swivels and escapes.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Fransson closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Nurpulaev regains half guard.

Fransson thows a huge punch but Nurpulaev dodges it nicely.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Fransson slips a nice elbow through Nurpulaev's hands, connecting with Nurpulaev's forehead.
Nurpulaev is refusing to be controlled, as Fransson sits in half guard.
Well, if Fransson is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Nurpulaev is looking to escape.

Nurpulaev wants to improve his position but Fransson is controlling well.

Fransson is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Fransson seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Nurpulaev holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
Nurpulaev is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Fransson wants to free his trapped foot but Nurpulaev is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Fransson is trying to work for a kimura but Nurpulaev is defending well.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Nurpulaev is refusing to be controlled, as Fransson sits in half guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Fransson looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Nurpulaev should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Fransson scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Fransson defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Nurpulaev.
Roger Fransson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sanzhar Nurpulaev.
Nurpulaev misses with a takedown attempt - Fransson sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Fransson lands a jab to the head.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Fransson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Nurpulaev tries to avoid it but Fransson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Nurpulaev to the ground. Nurpulaev escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
And Nurpulaev tries to counter it with a takedown but Fransson pushes his down on his head and steps out.
No luck for Nurpulaev with that takedown attempt.
Fransson shoots in looking for a takedown but Nurpulaev manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Fransson's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
As Fransson backs off Nurpulaev throws a huge counter combo but Fransson manages to avoid it all.
Nurpulaev shoots in looking for a takedown. Fransson tries to sprawl out of it but Nurpulaev keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Fransson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Nurpulaev darts in looking for a takedown but Fransson gets double underhooks and turns Nurpulaev into the cage.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Nurpulaev fails with the takedown.

Fransson gets a takedown into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sloppy strikes from Nurpulaev. Those never looked like landing.
It looked like Fransson was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Nurpulaev is sent reeling backwards by a solid uppercut. He barely regains his balance and Fransson moves in for the kill throwing a continuous barrage of punches that force the ref to step in.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:11 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Roger Fransson!
