The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aerts with a lazy takedown attempt
and Boy connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Aerts dives in for a single leg takedown but Boy sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Boy is looking to counter with head kicks.
Boy seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Aerts tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Boy defends well and Aerts ends up having to push Boy into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Jay Boy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Govan Aerts.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Aerts.
Aerts walks into a left hand.
Aerts doesn't succeed with the takedown
letting Boy counter with a right hand.
Govan Aerts seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Boy cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Aerts.
Aerts shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Aerts drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Aerts seems to have locked his on tight now - Boy screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Aerts, as he picks up the win!
