The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Arvanitidis throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
We've been hearing reports that Arvanitidis has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Malek connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Malek ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Arvanitidis moves away.
Arvanitidis misses with an uppercut. Malek saw that one coming.

Arvanitidis scores with a takedown into Malek's guard.
Malek has momentary wrist control but Arvanitidis slips an elbow through the middle.

Malek wriggles free and stands up.
Arvanitidis avoids the head kick by Malek.
Malek fails in his attempt to clinch.
A left lands for Malek.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Arvanitidis jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Arvanitidis feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Maleks jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Arvanitidis misses with a straight right.
Malek takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Arvanitidis swats away the attempt to clinch by Malek.
Arvanitidis looks to throw the jab but Malek is out of range.

Malek clinches.

Arvanitidis blocks an uppercut.

Arvanitidis escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Arvanitidis throws a right and a left that both miss.
Malek tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Arvanitidis paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Malek has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Arvanitidis finds it's way round the side to connect with Malek's head.
Arvanitidis throws a hook but Malek avoids it easily.
Malek throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Malek stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Malek wants it to stay on the feet.
A left and a right from Malek both land. Nice combination.
Malek tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Arvanitidis manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Malek defending well as Arvanitidis loads up on a big left hand.
Arvanitidis takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

Arvanitidis is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Arvanitidis throws a chopping leg kick but Malek manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Oh Arvanitidis is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Malek closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Arvanitidis! Malek dives in looking to finish! Arvanitidis is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!

In his post fight interview, Jai Malek started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
