The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Yakovlev rushes Rua and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Yakovlev breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

It looks like Cubert Rua has been cut.
Yakovlev looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Rua is trying to maintain a safe position but Yakovlev gets an underhook and turns Rua into the cage.
A nice left hand lands by Yakovlev.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Rua swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Yakovlev lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Yakovlev lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Rua backwards.
Still in the clinch, Yakovlev scores with a nice short uppercut.

Rua is rocked!

Rua is still on wobbly legs! Can Yakovlev finish him?
Yakovlev dips a shoulder and cracks Rua with a mighty uppercut! Rua falls back against the cage and Yakovlev unloads with a barrage of strikes! Rua is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Yakovlev screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!
