Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Northcutt closes the distance and pushes Thomson back into the cage.
Thomson has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Thomson is trying to pull guard but Northcutt has him pressed against the cage.
Thomson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Northcutt jumps guard but Thomson turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Northcutt breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

It looked like Thomson was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Northcutt can do anything to dispel that myth.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
