Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Brian Jensen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Peterson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Brian Jensen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Max Peterson!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Valeri Chadov and Aleksandr Martynov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Peterson tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Jensen defends well and Peterson ends up having to push Jensen into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Peterson wants to clinch but Jensen slips to the side

and Jensen counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Jensen trying to control the position from guard on top but Peterson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Peterson pulls Jensen in close to prevent any damage.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Jensen is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Peterson is looking for a sweep. Jensen is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Jensen is pressing down on Peterson's thigh, looking to free his foot. Peterson is holding on for now.
Jensen trying to control from Peterson's half guard. Peterson has other ideas though and has regained full guard.
Peterson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Jensen's guard.

Jensen is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Jensen tries to pass to full mount but Peterson defends it.

Jensen wants to lay and pray for a moment but Peterson keeps working.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jensen is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Peterson doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Jensen.
Jensen seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Peterson does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Peterson uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Jensen.

Peterson closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Jensen quickly recovers to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Brian Jensen overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Jensen is keen to just control but Peterson is a slippery customer.
Peterson is pressing down on Jensen's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Peterson fails with an attempt to clinch.

Jensen feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Jensen sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Peterson's guard.

Peterson is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Jensen's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Jensen's back!
I really don't envy Jensen right now.

That was a close second round but I would say that Brian Jensen will probably get the nod.

Jensen drops back looking for a leg! Peterson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Peterson manages to kick Jensen off! Jensen jumps back into Peterson's guard.

Jensen stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Peterson swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Peterson looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Jensen tries to counter with a takedown but Peterson is quick to defend against it.
Peterson takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Brian Jensen.
Well Jensen has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
