Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Buzz Amato!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Gus McKenna!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Roosa Järviläinen and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McKenna throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Amato ducks down and throws a hook to the body but McKenna moves away.
McKenna misses with a few strikes there.
McKenna lands the left hand.
Amato misses with a right hand
and McKenna counters with a stiff right hand.
Amato misses with a body punch
and McKenna counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Amato thinking.

Amato looking to score a takedown here. McKenna is defending well but Amato drives through and ends up in McKenna's guard.
Amato is looking to work some ground and pound but McKenna has wrist control.
Amato wants to control from the top but McKenna keeps moving.
Amato throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as McKenna works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
McKenna keeping moving, preventing Amato from controlling successfully.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Amato throwing strikes from guard but McKenna blocks nicely.

That's one minute gone in the round.
McKenna not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Amato is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Amato loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Amato controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
McKenna lands a lovely overhand right.
McKenna fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
McKenna clobbers Amato with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Amato misses with a jab to the body
and McKenna counters with a stiff right hand.
McKenna lands a nice hook to Amato's body. Amato takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Amato walks straight into a right hand from McKenna - that's dropped him! McKenna jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Amato from any more punishment! Amato complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Gus McKenna!
