PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Carlous Rex (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brock Resnar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rex comes to the cage accompanied by Carlous Rex. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Carlous Rex!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Brock Resnar!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Paul Aken and Nard Betker.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rex connects with a crisp jab.
Resnar shoots in and drives through. Rex sprawls well.
Rex swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Resnar.


It looks like Brock Resnar has been cut.
Rex's jab looks to have found its range, popping Resnar under the eye.
Rex misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Resnar.
Rex throws a shot from downtown. Resnar moves away and avoids it.
Rex stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
A jab lands there for Rex.
Rex tests Resnar's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Carlous Rex seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rex looks to score with a jab to the body but Resnar is just out of range.
Resnar is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.

Resnar unleashes a big counter combination but Rex bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Resnar darts in looking for a takedown but Rex gets double underhooks and turns Resnar into the cage.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Resnar uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Rex.

Resnar looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Rex!

Resnar tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Resnar has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Resnar decides to stand up, so the ref orders Rex to his feet.
Resnar is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Rex throws an ugly left hook that misses

and Resnar counters with a single leg into guard. Rex didn't expect that.
Rex is adopting a defensive guard.
Resnar trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Resnar gets to his feet - Rex follows without any prompting.
Resnar ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Rex thuds his right hand into Resnar's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Rex lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Rex is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
A slow jab from Rex misses its intended target.
A telegraphed right hand from Rex misses the target.
Despite the aggression on Resnar's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Rex fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Resnar on the side of the head.
Resnar has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Rex finds it's way round the side to connect with Resnar's head.

Rex misses with a hook.
Rex scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
A big left from Rex misses.
Rex misses with an uppercut. Resnar saw that one coming.
Resnar tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

A nice combination there by Rex.
Rex takes a swing at Resnar's ribcage but misses.
Rex lands with a nice combination. Resnar backs away looking to recover.

The fighters circling - Rex throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Rex fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Resnar manages to avoid it.
Rex is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

A decent looking cross lands there for Rex.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Resnar walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Rex stuffs the takedown attempt from Resnar. Resnar gets slowly back to his feet.
Rex moves into range and connects with a jab.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Resnar's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Rex connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Resnar scrambles back to his feet.
Rex throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Resnar darts in looking for a takedown but Rex gets double underhooks and turns Resnar into the cage.
Resnar slips under a jab.
Resnar shoots in for a double leg but Rex sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Carlous Rex has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brock Resnar.
Rex misses with a straight right.
Resnar is looking for the big counter here.
Rex stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Rex wants it to stay on the feet.
Rex keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Nice uppercut lands for Rex. That snapped Resnar's head back.

Resnar has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye.
Rex lands a nice looking body shot.
Resnar uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Rex.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Nice straight punches there by Rex. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Rex.
Carlous Rex is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Rex throws a lazy right hand but Resnar sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Resnar steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Rex.
Resnar takes one to the chin there.

Resnar is breathing heavily.
Resnar darts in looking for a takedown but Rex gets double underhooks and turns Resnar into the cage.

The cut above Brock Resnar's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Rex throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
As Rex backs off Resnar throws a huge counter combo but Rex manages to avoid it all.
Rex swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Resnar.
Resnar with a poor takedown
and Rex counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Rex lands a nice looking body shot.
Resnar on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Rex misses with an uppercut. Resnar saw that one coming.

Rex is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Resnar can do to turn this around?

Resnar shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Carlous Rex is winning the standup battle so far.
Rex throws an overhand right that lands on Resnar's shoulder, as Resnar tries to avoid the shot.
Rex scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Resnar doesn't seem bothered though.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Resnar moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.


Resnar is rocked!
Rex lands a jab to Resnar's midsection.
Rex's jab looks to have found its range, popping Resnar under the eye.
Resnar is still on wobbly legs! Can Rex finish him?


Brock Resnar's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
A decent looking cross lands there for Rex.
Rex lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Resnar at a distance.
Rex fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Rex cracks Resnar with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Resnar tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Rex pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Resnar is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Carlous Rex!
A victorious Carlous Rex thanked his army of followers in his post fight interview, telling people to make sure they follow him on Twitter.
The defeated Brock Resnar had this to say: 'I blame these fans for my lose fucke those I'm going to get back in this fight'.
