Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Denver Ingram (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Evan Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Evan Jones has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Denver Ingram's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jones closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Ingram did well to prevent Jones getting side control.

Ingram makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

Jones decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Ingram has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Jones is on him like a limpet, forcing Ingram back against the cage.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Ingram drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Jones jumps guard and drags Ingram to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Ingram controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Ingram's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Ingram will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Jones tries to clinch up
and Ingram counters with a solid body kick.

Ingram tries to sprawl but Jones drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Jones is trying to control. Ingram wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Ingram is looking for a sweep. Jones is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Jones is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Ingram defends it well.
Ingram works his way to full guard. Good work.

Ingram pulls Jones in to control the position.
Ingram has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ingram is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Ingram has his foot on Jones's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Jones works his way back into a safe position though.
Ingram is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Ingram is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Jones presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Jones pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Jones cracks the inside of Ingram's front leg.

Jones feints and as Ingram raises his hands in defense, Jones changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Ingram pushes Jones off and gets back to his feet.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Jones enables Ingram to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Jones manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Jones bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Ingram throws Jones to one side and escapes!

Ingram shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Ingram was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Ingram decides to stand up, so the ref orders Jones to his feet.

Ingram shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Jones's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ingram has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ingram decides to stand and escape the position.
Jones moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

It looks like Denver Ingram has been cut.

and Ingram connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Ingram manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Ingram gets to his feet - Jones follows without any prompting.

Ingram shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Ingram showed some decent athleticism there.

Ingram stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Jones takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Ingram really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Ingram gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Ingram has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Jones has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

Ingram escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Ingram fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Jones to the ground. Ingram is now in Jones's guard.
Ingram lands a couple of elbows.
Ingram connects with a couple of short punches.

Ingram shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Jones manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ingram gets to his feet - Jones follows without any prompting.

Ingram has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Jones off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Ingram has an Americana. Jones didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Ingram is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Ingram hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
