Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jamar Lullard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kedar Dere (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lullard comes to the cage accompanied by Move That Dope. Kedar Dere has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jamar Lullard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kedar Dere!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Ian Loll and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dere darts in and clinches Lullard up against the cage.
Dere is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Dere wants to take the fight to the mat but Lullard manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Dere's coach down at Cozad MMA Montreal was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Dere's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Dere has Lullard pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Lullard manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Dere tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Lullard prevents the takedown attempt.
Jamar Lullard has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kedar Dere.
Dere fails to pull guard.

Lullard jumps into guard, dragging Dere to the mat.
Lullard is looking to stand up but Dere isn't so interested in that idea.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lullard is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Lullard working a defensive guard but Dere manages to pass into side control anyway.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Dere looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Dere looks winded!
Lullard sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Lullard is trying to control but can't.
Lullard preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.
Lullard blocking the ground and pound attempt from Dere.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Lullard is looking to improve his position.
Lullard has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Dere is working away from the top position though.
Lullard throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Dere throws a strike but Lullard avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
Dere wants to control from the top but Lullard keeps moving.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dere looking to sit in guard and control but Lullard gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.


That's three minutes gone in the round.
Lullard trying to control the position from guard on top but Dere is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Lullard gets to his feet. Dere looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Lullard fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Lullard looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Dere is fending him off so far but Lullard persists. Nope, Dere circles away and we're back to standing.
Dere ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Lullard moves away.
Lullard tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Dere counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Lullard!

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Dere tries for a kimura but Lullard is defending well.
Lullard is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Kedar Dere will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Dere throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Lullard counters with a takedown into side control.
Lullard lands an elbow.
Lullard in side control, just content to control the action for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lullard avoids the strikes from the bottom by Dere.
You can see the frustration on Dere's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Dere is breathing heavily.

Lullard has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Dere is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Lullard yanks on the arm and Dere is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Lullard.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Jamar Lullard!
A relieved looking Jamar Lullard thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
