Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Andrew Olson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Chiun Remo!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Matti Vanhoillinen and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Olson is looking to clinch but Remo is avoiding it.

Remo rushes Olson and presses him up against the cage.

With the fighters up against the cage, Remo throws an elbow but misses.
Remo tries for a takedown. No joy.

Remo's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

and Olson counters with a three punch combo that has Remo backing up. Remo nods at Olson to acknowledge the strikes.

Olson will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Remo drops back, looking for a kneebar! Olson looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Olson looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Olson!

Remo really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Olson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Remo creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Olson connects with a nice short shot to Remo's temple.

Olson is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Remo has managed to free his arm - good work.
Olson thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Remo's head.

Olson postures up in Remo's guard and throws a big left but Remo blocks it.

Remo wants to get back to his feet but Olson is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Olson is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Remo is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Olson has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.
No joy there for Olson, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Olson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Remo moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Remo lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Remo shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Olson as he jumps to the side.
Remo tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Olson manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Chiun Remo comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
