Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sage Westcutt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alex Flaherty (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sage Westcutt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Alex Flaherty!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Eddie Farnsworth and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Flaherty looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Westcutt!
Flaherty cracks Westcutt with a big right hand but Westcutt just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Westcutt tries to bench press Flaherty off him but Flaherty keeps the position.
Westcutt is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Flaherty is controlling him well.
A lull in the action here as Flaherty stalls from top position.

Flaherty decides to stand back up. Flaherty steps back and let's Westcutt get back to his feet.

Flaherty darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Flaherty decides to stand and escape the position.
Flaherty fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Westcutt manages to avoid it.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Westcutt gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Flaherty to score an easy takedown into full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Flaherty postures up and lands a big shot to Westcutt's brow.
Flaherty not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Westcutt can't keep his opponent in guard - Flaherty advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Westcutt pushes Flaherty off looking to stand but Flaherty dives back in and keeps control.
Westcutt wants to improve his position but Flaherty is controlling well.
Well, if Flaherty is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Let's hope that Flaherty has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Westcutt trying to control here.
Flaherty slows the pace down in half guard.
Flaherty's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Westcutt is looking to get back to is feet but Flaherty passes into side control.

A lull in the action here.

Flaherty thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

You can see the frustration on Westcutt's face as Flaherty controls the position.
Flaherty cracks Westcutt with a big elbow.

Flaherty decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Flaherty needs to keep his hands up - Westcutt had a free shot at his head there.
Sage Westcutt seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Flaherty is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Westcutt's half guard.


Westcutt is rocked!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Flaherty perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Westcutt is trying to control Flaherty's posture. Flaherty takes advantage of the lull and advances to side control. He also appears to have an arm triangle here! Uh oh, big trouble for Westcutt! Flaherty is rotating here... this could be the end... Westcutt is out! Flaherty has ended this one emphatically! Great submission!
