PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Kali Parlsh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Lang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Mark Lang was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kali Parlsh!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mark Lang!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Luis Engracia and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lang paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Parlsh slips under a jab.
Parlsh gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Lang counters with a nice uppercut.
Parlsh uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Lang.
Lang scores with a hook to the body. Parlsh takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Lang defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Parlsh.
Lang cracks Parlsh with a good jab.
Parlsh shoots in and drives through. Lang sprawls well.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kali Parlsh. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Parlsh manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Lang on his heels. He'll look to pass Lang's guard now, I'm sure.

Lang might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Parlsh haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

We've been hearing good reports from Parlsh's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Lang throws out a counter right but Parlsh avoids it with no problem.
Kali Parlsh seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Parlsh looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Lang is fending him off so far but Parlsh persists. Nope, Lang circles away and we're back to standing.

Parlsh has hold of one of Lang's legs. Lang is fighting the takedown attempt but Parlsh gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Lang manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Parlsh manages to get himself to full guard.

Parlsh avoids a strike by Lang and manages to complete a very nice reversal in the process, to end up in Lang's guard! Fantastic escape!

I've got Lang winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
