With a record of 1 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Herteruiop Jertuaser!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cairncross pushes Jertuaser up against the cage in a clinch.

Cairncross breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Jertuaser shoots in but Cairncross avoids the takedown attempt easily.

The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.

Cairncross lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Jertuaser or not.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jertuaser breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Cairncross rushes Jertuaser and presses him up against the cage.

Cairncross's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Cairncross gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Cairncross makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.

Jertuaser tries to circle away but Cairncross has him pinned against the cage.
Cairncross blocks the elbow strike.
Jertuaser has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Cairncross is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Shayne Cairncross has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Herteruiop Jertuaser.

Cairncross breaks the clinch.
Cairncross lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

It looks like Herteruiop Jertuaser has been cut.

I was talking to Cairncross's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Cairncross lands a knee to the head.
Jertuaser tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Cairncross's elbow.

Cairncross lands with a hook. Jertuaser tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Jertuaser tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Cairncross swivels and escapes.
Horrible takedown attempt by Jertuaser or perhaps it was just good defense by Cairncross, which made it look bad.

Jertuaser gets tackled into the cage by Cairncross. Cairncross maintains the clinch.

Herteruiop Jertuaser seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jertuaser closes this distance looking for a takedown but Cairncross circles away.

Cairncross clinches up with Jertuaser and pushes him back against the cage.

Cairncross pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Oooooh!!! Cairncross has knocked Jertuaser down with a huge combo! Cairncross steps away and waves a wobbly Jertuaser back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
