Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Cristobal Donaldson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jij Ijo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jij Ijo!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Shigeki Sano and Hirohito Nitta.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ijo drives through with a takedown into Donaldson's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Ijo throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Donaldson was covering up waiting for the punch and Ijo finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Donaldson manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Ijo keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

Donaldson manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Ijo is trying to ground and pound but Donaldson uses the momentary lack of control by Ijo to regain half guard.

Ijo bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Ijo wants to lay and pray for a moment but Donaldson keeps working.

Ijo must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Cristobal Donaldson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Donaldson is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Ijo can do anything to dispel that myth.

Donaldson decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Ijo, up you get!
No joy there for Donaldson, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Donaldson dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Ijo. That did some damage!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Jij Ijo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Ijo enables Donaldson to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Ijo manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Donaldson changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Ijo looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Donaldson seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Ijo for as long as he can get away with.

Well Donaldson has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
