Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jack Soto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rob Wielowicz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jack Soto has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jack Soto!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Rob Wielowicz!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Aleksandr Martynov and Dmitry Maklakov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Soto tries to keep at a distance but Wielowicz has taken the fight into the clinch.

Soto has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Wielowicz is trying to keep an underhook but Soto manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Wielowicz trying to control but Soto postures up.
Wielowicz trying to keep hold of his opponent's head but Soto manages to pass to mount!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Wielowicz wants to control but Soto is having none of it.
Soto controlling the pace for now.
Wielowicz tries to hold on but Soto pushes him away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Soto controlling the position easily from mount.

Soto looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.

Wielowicz is wriggling around trying to escape.
Wielowicz is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Wielowicz tries to hold on but Soto pushes him away.
Wielowicz is in a horrible position here. Soto smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Soto get's back to his feet.
Wielowicz lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Wielowicz.
Wielowicz throws a head kick that misses

and Soto counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Wielowicz manages to break the clinch.

Wielowicz tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Soto really is a fat lump.
Wielowicz looks winded!
Wielowicz scores with a nice head shot.
Wielowicz looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Wielowicz does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
As Wielowicz looks to move away, Soto throws a big counter combo but Wielowicz just gets out of the way.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Wielowicz throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Soto's waist but Soto gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Wielowicz off to one side.

Wielowicz tries to sprawl but Soto drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Soto is nestled in close to Wielowicz, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Soto is looking for a kimura but Wielowicz is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Soto to get the leverage.
Soto is taking a breather. Wielowicz says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Soto stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Wielowicz to get to his feet.
Soto misses with a body shot.
Wielowicz keeps Soto at a distance using the push kick.

Wielowicz swings widly with a right hand

and Soto counters by clinching up.
Soto is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Soto is trying to trip Wielowicz. He has hold of a leg but Wielowicz is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Soto persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Soto drops back looking for a leg! Wielowicz is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Wielowicz manages to kick Soto off! Soto jumps back into Wielowicz's guard.

Soto drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Soto jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Wielowicz has momentary wrist control but Soto slips an elbow through the middle.
Wielowicz is trying to control the position but Soto postures up.
Wielowicz really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Soto. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Soto is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Wielowicz can do anything to dispel that myth.
Wielowicz has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Soto has passed into side control.
Soto lands some shots froms side control.

Soto tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Soto has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Wielowicz tries to escape but Soto is in control.

Soto thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Soto is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Wielowicz looks calm but he's in trouble here. Soto gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Wielowicz is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Soto lets go of the hold and Wielowicz can pop his arm back in it's socket.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Jack Soto!
