Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Charli Mark (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Simon Carlsen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Charli Mark!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Simon Carlsen!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Wagner Zegers and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mark gets a takedown into half guard.

Mark knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Carlsen on the ground.

Mark throws a big elbow that misses.

Carlsen had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Mark defends it easily.
Mark trying to control but Carlsen is working from the bottom.

Carlsen working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mark doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Mark manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Carlsen is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Carlsen is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Mark is aware though and is defending well.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Carlsen can do anything to dispel that myth.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Carlsen is on top in guard.

Carlsen is pushing down on Mark's leg trying to pass to half guard. Mark is fighting to maintain full guard but Carlsen has managed to sneak the leg through.
Carlsen seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Carlsen is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Mark is surviving well by controlling Carlsen's body position as best he can.
Carlsen wants to control the pace but Mark is squirming around nicely.
Mark is in all sorts of trouble here.

It looks like Charli Mark has been cut.

Mark wants to try and get back to his feet.
Mark really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Carlsen can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Mark is looking to escape.
Carlsen misses with a head shot.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Carlsen has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Mark's face.
Mark tries to lock up and control but Carlsen gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Carlsen throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Carlsen is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Mark fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Carlsen sprawls well initially but Mark persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Well, if Mark is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Carlsen is pressing down on Mark's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Mark has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Carlsen escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Mark gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Carlsen is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Carlsen has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Mark is in trouble now - Carlsen has advanced to mount!

Carlsen has his foot on Mark's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Mark works his way back into a safe position though.

Mark got a little sloppy there for a moment and Carlsen has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Mark has managed to get both his arms back between Carlsen's legs - danger averted.

Carlsen is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Mark defends well.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Carlsen is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Mark wants to pass the guard but Carlsen is keeping the position.
Mark wants to stand and escape but instead Carlsen has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Mark is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Carlsen scores with a couple of nice shots.


Charli Mark's cut is getting worse.
Carlsen working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.


Charli Mark's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.

Carlsen wants to work for an arm triangle but Mark is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Carlsen is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Mark can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Jeez, Charli Mark's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Charli Mark's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
