Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Elliott Francis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Karel Vomacka!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Nard Betker and Paulsen Ambrosius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vomacka moves in looking to clinch but Francis pushes him off.
Vomacka throws a body kick, spinning off balance

and Francis holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Francis fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Francis jumps guard but Vomacka turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Vomacka pulls guard.
Vomacka is adopting a defensive guard.
Vomacka not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Vomacka is looking for a triangle here but Francis uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
The ground and pound from Francis seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

Vomacka can't do much from the bottom here.

Francis thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Francis wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Vomacka, who protects the arm well.

Vomacka bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!

Vomacka shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Francis is trying to defend but Vomacka finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Francis pushes Vomacka off and gets back to his feet.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Vomacka shoots in and bounces Francis off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Francis is pulling down on Vomacka's head to control his posture.

Francis is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Vomacka presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
Francis wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Vomacka has him pressed against the cage.

Francis breaks the clinch.

Vomacka clinches.

Vomacka escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Vomacka tries to close the distance and clinch up but Francis swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Francis gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Vomacka to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Francis pushes Vomacka off and scrambles back to his feet.

Karel Vomacka seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Vomacka throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Francis.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Vomacka.

Francis throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!

Vomacka shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Vomacka was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Francis throws Vomacka to one side and escapes!
Francis circles away from the clinch attempt.
Francis appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.
Vomacka wants to clinch up but Francis keeps it at a distance.

Vomacka closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Vomacka lands in his opponent's guard.

Francis wriggles free and stands up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Elliott Francis dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Karel Vomacka is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Vomacka drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Francis throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!

Francis dives in and scores a takedown into Vomacka's guard.
Elliott Francis overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Vomacka working a defensive guard but Francis manages to pass into side control anyway.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Vomacka gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

Vomacka is trying to maintain the position but Francis is very close to passing his half guard.

Vomacka kicks off Francis and gets to his feet.
Francis is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Vomacka can do to turn this around?
Vomacka displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Francis.

Vomacka fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Francis, pushing him back against the cage.
Vomacka goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Francis drags the fight down to the ground.
Vomacka looking to sit in guard and control but Francis gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.


Vomacka throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Francis escapes and throws Vomacka's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Francis thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Vomacka manages to get back to half guard.

Vomacka has one foot on Francis's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Vomacka wants to pass the guard but Francis is keeping the position.
Vomacka looking to sit in guard and control but Francis gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Vomacka is on top in guard.

Vomacka might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Francis haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Elliott Francis will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! And we move into the final round!


Vomacka on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Vomacka fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Francis has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Vomacka shoots in and bounces Francis off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Vomacka throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Francis works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Vomacka must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Francis wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Vomacka is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Francis has his feet on Vomacka's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Vomacka shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Francis has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Vomacka is on him like a limpet, forcing Francis back against the cage.

Francis is trying to pull guard but Vomacka has him pressed against the cage.

Francis escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Vomacka leaves Francis with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Francis really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Vomacka shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Francis trying to hold on to Vomacka's head to control him but Vomacka postures up.
Vomacka seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Vomacka trying to control the action but Francis is working from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Vomacka prevents Francis from standing back up.
Francis preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.
Vomacka wants to take a breather but Francis is having none of it.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Vomacka closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Vomacka lands in his opponent's guard.


Francis is rocked!

Vomacka stands up and waves to Francis to follow him.
Oh Francis is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Vomacka clinches up against the cage.
Francis seems to have got his legs back now.

Vomacka breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Vomacka gets the takedown into side control.

Francis throws Vomacka to one side and escapes!

Vomacka drives through and clinches with Francis against the cage.

Vomacka has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Francis clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Francis is trying to get back to his feet. He's worked up on to his knees and now he's on his feet with his head on the canvas, trying to shake Vomacka off. It looks like it's working - Vomacka slides off, much to his dismay, and we're back to standing! Francis displaying calm under pressure there.
Karel Vomacka has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Elliott Francis is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Francis shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Vomacka defends it nicely.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Elliott Francis.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Francis, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
