Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Everett Duncan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fonz Stephens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fonz Stephens will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Everett Duncan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Fonz Stephens!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Chris Saunders and Ryoma Takatsuka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stephens avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Stephens looks like he wanted to counter with a high kick but didn't throw it.
Stephens with a hook.


It looks like Everett Duncan has been cut.
Duncan tries to close the distance and clinch up but Stephens swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Stephens raises up his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
Stephens throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Stephens forces Duncan back against the cage and clinches.

Stephens breaks from the clinch.
Duncan staying out of range there.
Duncan tries to clinch up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Stephens closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Duncan to the mat! Duncan manages to get full guard.
Stephens keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Duncan's head.

Stephens drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Duncan manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Stephens has Duncan in his guard.

Duncan is fighting to break Stephens's control of his arms but Stephens is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Stephens lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.


Duncan is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Stephens is aware though and is defending well.
Stephens would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Duncan utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Stephens postures up.
Stephens slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Stephens keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Duncan's head.


Duncan is rocked!
Stephens is looking to stand up but Duncan won't let him.
Oh Duncan is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Stephens postures up from his opponent's guard, before exploding into some vicious ground and pound! Duncan covers up, he's hurt! Stephens keeps throwing the strikes, glancing at the referee... Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Stephens and the ref steps in to end the fight! Stephens can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Fonz Stephens!
