Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Glossu Rabban (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jan Bodahl (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bodahl fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Rabban seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.

Rabban decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bodahl tries to roll over but Rabban keeps him under control.

Rabban is trying to work for a kimura but Bodahl is defending well.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Rabban prevents Bodahl from improving his position.

Rabban seems to be working for a kimura but Bodahl defends the submission attempt.

Rabban is keen to just control but Bodahl is a slippery customer.

Bodahl moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Rabban working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rabban lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Bodahl seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Rabban avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Rabban wants to control from the top but Bodahl keeps moving.

Rabban postures up in Bodahl's guard and throws a big left but Bodahl blocks it.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Rabban passes Bodahl's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Bodahl really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rabban. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Bodahl has his foot on Rabban's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Rabban works his way back into a safe position though.

Rabban shoots in for a takedown but Bodahl shows good takedown defense.
Rabban is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Bodahl can do to turn this around?
Rabban goes for a double leg but Bodahl avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Bodahl continues to drive forward.

Bodahl has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Rabban clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Bodahl is trying to stick to Rabban's back but Rabban is turning into Bodahl. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Bodahl's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Rabban.

Glossu Rabban overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Bodahl is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Rabban is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Bodahl's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Bodahl's back!
