The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Velka.
Velka slips a jab and a cross from Medeiros .
Velka misses with an attempted mid kick.
Medeiros on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Velka connects with a looping right hand.
Medeiros takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Medeiros blocks the body kick.
Velka moves out of the way of the counter high kick fromMedeiros .
Medeiros doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Velka throws a push kick but Medeiros slaps the foot to one side.
Velka tries to work over Medeiros 's front leg with a kick but Medeiros checks it.
Medeiros thinks about the counter body kick.
Velka connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Velka misses with a two punch combination.
A good leg kick by Velka.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Velka ducks under a wild hook from Medeiros .
Medeiros has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Medeiros there as he acknowledges the shot.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Velka tries to bum rush Medeiros with a series of wild strikes but Medeiros uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Velka connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Velka scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Medeiros doesn't seem bothered though.
Medeiros tries to land a front kick but Velka steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Velka tries a head kick but it misses.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Medeiros ! But no joy.
Velka lands a nice leg kick that just misses Medeiros 's sensitive parts.
Velka pivots, looking for a leg kick but Medeiros is out of range and Velka settles back down.
A punch lands to the side of Medeiros 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Velka connects with an inside leg kick.
Medeiros on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Velka. Velka obviously looking to wear him down.
Velka lands a nice looking body kick.
Medeiros is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Velka.
Velka lands with a shot to the body.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Velka lands a head kick. Medeiros smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Velka lands a brutal head kick. Medeiros looks out on his feet and Velka throws more strikes until the ref is forced to stop the fight!
