Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between EM Punk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Dever (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the ring it seems that EM Punk has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily EM Punk seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Joe Dever!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Shirou Masuda and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Punk shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Dever sprawls well. Dever wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Punk gets slowly back to his feet.
Punk fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Punk doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Dever moves into range and connects with a jab.
Dever shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Punk eats them both and turns towards Dever to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Dever swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Punk shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Dever pinned against the ropes. Dever gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for EM Punk. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Dever connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Punk has been working on his balance at Body Pain_12elite_599$+VM, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Dever.

We've been informed that Dever has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

Dever lands with a nice body kick.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Punk tries for a takedown but Dever circles away easily
and Dever counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Dever's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Dever duly obliges.
It looks like EM Punk has been cut.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Punk.
Punk changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Dever tries to avoid it but Punk manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Dever to the ground. Dever escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Joe Dever is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Dever misses with a jab, cross combination.
Dever misses with a two punch combination.
Dever lands a leg kick that knocks Punk off balance momentarily.
Dever lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
EM Punk seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dever throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Punk doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Dever counters with a series of strikes. Punk will be more careful next time no doubt.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Punk closes the distance and clinches up with Dever, looking for a takedown. Punk pushes Dever against the ropes but Dever circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Punk tries to move into range but Dever moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Punk takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Dever moves into range and clinches up with Punk.

Dever misses with a short punch on the inside.
Dever can't find room to land a body shot as Punk controls the action.
Punk blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Dever throws a head punch that misses.
Dever is trying to break the clinch but Punk is controlling him.
Punk jumps guard but Dever turns him against the ropes and keeps the fight standing.
Dever is trying to push Punk away but Punk has him pressed against the ropes, so he's going nowhere.
Dever prevents the takedown attempt.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Punk.
Punk is looking for a takedown up against the ropes. Dever gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Punk tries to land knees in the clinch but Dever avoids the damage to the body.
Dever breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Dever throws a series of punches but Punk moves out of range.
Dever is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Punk had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Dever looks to land a combination. Punk sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
A right-left combo lands from Dever.
Punk gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Dever counters with a low kick, right behind Punk 's knee.
Punk shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Dever throws out a counter right but Punk avoids it with no problem.
Punk with a poor takedown
and Dever counters with a crisp one two that drops Punk! Dever thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Punk to his feet! Punk is in big trouble!
Punk is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Dever moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Oh Punk is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Dever walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Punk drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Dever swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Punk's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Joe Dever!
Joe Dever spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
