The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Richard Clark and Sam Margolis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Machado drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Machado goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Schneeger has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Machado but great work by Schneeger.
Schneeger knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Machado on the ground.
Machado tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Schneeger stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Machado feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Schneeger throws a series of punches but Machado moves out of range.
Machado shoots in for a takedown but Schneeger shows good takedown defense.
Schneeger has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Machado is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Machado wants to lay and pray for a moment but Schneeger keeps working.
Schneeger is looking to escape.

Machado wants to work for an arm triangle but Schneeger is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Machado looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

It looks like John Machado has been cut.
Machado shoots in and drives through. Schneeger sprawls well.
A little feinted left hand from Schneeger on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Machado shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Schneeger as he avoids it easily.
Schneeger went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.

Schneeger looked to counter with a high kick but didn't commit.
Schneeger turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Schneeger throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
