The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Herve swings and misses with a hook to the body.
As Herve tries to get set, Thompson tries to push him back and clinch up but Herve manages to avoid the attempt.
Herve has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Thompson is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Herve wants to clinch.
Herve keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Thompson.
Herve tries to clinch up.
Herve throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Herve misses with a looping right.
Herve throws a right and a left that Thompson avoids nicely.
Herve misses with a wild body shot.
Herve throws a solid leg kick but Thompson takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Herve.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Herve scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Thompson doesn't seem bothered though.

Herve is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Herve pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Herve moves in looking to clinch but Thompson pushes him off.
Herve lands a really nice looking cross but Thompson seems unphased.
Herve takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

Herve is rocked!
Thompson plants his feet and throws a brutal three punch combo that sends Herve swiftly into unconsciousness! Right, left, right! Boom, boom, boom! Herve face plants, battered and bloodied! He might never be the same again after that finish!
