Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Sang Reeves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Peter Deane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Peter Deane has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Sang Reeves's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Sang Reeves!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Peter Deane!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Ren Mimura and Yukihiro Shimada.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reeves throws a jab when Deane was well out of range.
Deane shoots in looking for a takedown but Reeves manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Deane's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Reeves really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Deane closes the distance and clinches.
A nice left hand lands by Reeves.
Reeves softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.
Deane has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Reeves avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Reeves with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Reeves tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Reeves pushes Deane back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Reeves is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Deane to keep the fight standing.
Good body shot from Deane.
A head punch on the inside from Reeves fails to land.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Reeves using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Deane has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Reeves stops a takedown attempt from Deane.
Sang Reeves has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Peter Deane.
Reeves can't find room to land a body shot as Deane controls the action.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Reeves.
Deane wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Deane is trying to break the clinch but Reeves is controlling him.

Deane blocking some punches.
Reeves misses with the head strike.

Deane escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Deane tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Reeves lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
Deane shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Reeves as he jumps to the side.

Reeves takes the fight into the clinch.
Reeves lands with a left to the head.
Deane taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
Deane jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Reeves walks away with a smile on his face. Deane gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Deane scores with a kick to the body.

Deane shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Reeves is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
Deane works his foot free and advances to mount.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Deane working away from the top, dropping strikes.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Deane looking for a guillotine from mount but Reeves is having none of it.
Reeves trying desperately to get to his feet.
Deane avoids the attempt from Reeves to control.
Reeves sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Deane tries to pass to full mount but Reeves defends it.
Reeves trying to hold on to Deane's head to control him but Deane postures up.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Deane working Reeves over with strikes.
Reeves desperately trying to maintain half guard.
Deane wants to control but Reeves is keeping him busy.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Deane lands a nice short elbow.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Reeves controlling the position well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Sang Reeves will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Deane looks for a takedown but Reeves sprawls well.
Deane fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Deane misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Sang Reeves has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Peter Deane.
Deane bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Deane is looking for the big counter here.
Reeves tries to clinch up but Deane circles away and keeps his distance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Reeves moves into the clinch.

Deane pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Deane tries to close the distance and clinch up but Reeves swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Reeves seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Deane uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Reeves.

Deane looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Reeves stuffs the takedown.
Deane avoids the head kick by Reeves.
Deane misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Reeves misses with a jab, cross combination.

Reeves has closed the distance and engaged Deane in a clinch.
Reeves looking to throw knees to the head but Deane is blocking nicely.
Deane tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Reeves just stands there and leans against the cage.
Reeves with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Reeves tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Reeves throws a knee to the head but misses.
Deane misses with a knee strike.
Reeves misses with a punch on the inside.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Deane tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Reeves smiles and moves away.
Reeves has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.
Deane is breathing heavily.
Deane shoots in looking for a takedown. Reeves tries to sprawl out of it but Deane keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Reeves manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Reeves throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Deane wants to clinch
and Reeves counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Reeves gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Deane to score an easy takedown into full guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Reeves is pulling down on Deane's head to control his posture.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Reeves keeping moving, preventing Deane from controlling successfully.
Reeves is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Reeves is looking to sweep but instead, Deane has passed into half guard.
Reeves trying to control here.
Deane wants to lay and pray for a moment but Reeves keeps working.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Reeves is looking to improve his position.
Deane wants to pass to mount but Reeves is defending the position.
Deane missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Deane trying to control the action but Reeves is working from the bottom.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Reeves is looking to improve his position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Reeves is looking to control Deane's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Reeves avoid being mounted?

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sang Reeves dominated that second round.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!


Reeves throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Deane sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Deane connects with a good straight punch right through the guard and follows up with a right hook and a left hook! That last one sent Reeves tumbling to the canvas! Deane pours on the pressure with more strikes and the referee has no hesitation diving in to stop the fight! Reeves was done - good stoppage!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:12 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Peter Deane!
