Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ambrose Alvarez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and A Dog And A Man (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). And A Man has chosen iDOLM@STER vs. DMX - WHERE THE IDOLS AT as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ambrose Alvarez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, A Dog And A Man!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Steve Smith and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alvarez changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. And A Man tries to avoid it but Alvarez manages to keep hold of a leg and drag And A Man to the ground. And A Man escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

And A Man scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
And A Man takes a little break here. Alvarez wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

And A Man is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Alvarez knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Alvarez is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sloppy strikes there by And A Man.

And A Man looks up at the clock and then as Alvarez takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, And A Man smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Alvarez could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

And A Man decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Alvarez throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. And A Man tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Alvarez is in And A Man's guard.
And A Man has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
And A Man trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Alvarez with a flurry of punches that miss.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
And A Man is wriggling around but Alvarez manages to pass to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Alvarez prevents And A Man from standing back up.
And A Man regains full guard. Nicely done.
And A Man has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Alvarez drops back looking for a leg! And A Man is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and And A Man manages to kick Alvarez off! Alvarez jumps back into And A Man's guard.
And A Man bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Alvarez's guard.

Alvarez keeping moving, preventing And A Man from controlling successfully.
And A Man is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
And A Man slips nicely into half guard.
And A Man trying to control from half guard but Alvarez is working away.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Ground and pound from And A Man.


It looks like Ambrose Alvarez has been cut.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

It looks like And A Man is going to stand back up.
And A Man works his way into full mount!
Alvarez bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Alvarez stops And A Man from standing up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A Dog And A Man dominated that round.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


And A Man keeps the fight on the outside.
Alvarez wants to clinch.

Alvarez tries to sprawl but And A Man drives through with a takedown into half guard.
And A Man trying to control the pace.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
And A Man wants to get back to his feet.
And A Man is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

And A Man is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Alvarez keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
And A Man wants to pass to mount but Alvarez is defending the position.
And A Man has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
And A Man stalling.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Alvarez gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows And A Man to score an easy takedown into full guard.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for And A Man. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.
And A Man passes Alvarez's left leg - he's now in half guard.
And A Man wants to control but Alvarez is keeping him busy.

And A Man wants to stand up but Alvarez manages to regain full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
And A Man engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
And A Man trying to control but Alvarez is working from the bottom.

And A Man is landing with some decent strikes but Alvarez is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
And A Man controlling from the full mount.

A Dog And A Man showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!



And A Man shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Alvarez tries to kick And A Man off in order to stand up. And A Man Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
And A Man controlling the position from side mount.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
And A Man working the ground and pound.

Alvarez is trying to improve his position.
Alvarez is working hard here to advance position.
You can see the frustration on Alvarez's face as And A Man controls the position.
And A Man laying and praying for a moment but Alvarez takes advantage and regains half guard.
And A Man looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
And A Man wants to stand up but Alvarez has a hold of him and won't allow it.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

And A Man is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Alvarez has managed to free his arm - good work.
Alvarez might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Alvarez wants to improve his position but And A Man is controlling well.
And A Man working over Alvarez with some ground and pound. Alvarez looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Alvarez is pressing down on And A Man's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
And A Man stays in close to Alvarez's body and controls the position.
And A Man trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Alvarez tries to keep at a distance but And A Man has taken the fight into the clinch.
And A Man tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Alvarez avoids it.

And A Man pulls guard successfully.

Alvarez drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and And A Man dives on top into guard.

Alvarez keeping moving, preventing And A Man from controlling successfully.
And A Man won't allow Alvarez to sweep him here.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
And A Man controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
And A Man has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Alvarez is proving hard to escape from.
And A Man engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Ambrose Alvarez has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
A Dog And A Man is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

A Dog And A Man comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well And A Man has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
