The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bustamante fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Kai.
Kai feints and then cracks Bustamante's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Bustamante down.
We've been told by Kai's head coaches at Masaru Fighting Systems II that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Bustamante misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Kai steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Bustamante.

We've been informed that Bustamante has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Bustamante takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Kai avoids a low kick by using good footwork.

Kai cracks Bustamante with a right hand to the side of the head.
Kai shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Bustamante eats them both and turns towards Kai to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Look low, kick high! Bustamante uses the oldest trick in the book to send Kai tumbling to the canvas, in a truly brutal knockout! Bustamante is absolutely delighted - when Kai wakes up, I doubt he'll be quite so happy!
