PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Sterling Archer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Galt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Archer comes into the arena with Kenny Loggins - Danger Zone blaring out of the sound system. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, John Galt!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Columbo Gatti and John Kavanagh.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Galt is looking to chop away at Archer's legs.
Archer on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Galt. Galt obviously looking to wear him down.
Archer checks the leg kick nicely there.
It looked like Archer was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Galt.
Archer throws a front kick aimed at Galt's knee but Galt avoids it well.
Archer throws a body punch but Galt moves out of range.
Galt scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Archer stuffs the takedown.
A counter left hand to the body from Archer misses its target.
Archer takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Galt takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Archer moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Galt throws a big shot that misses.
Archer is looking to counter with a body kick.

Archer defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Galt.

Galt throws a looping overhand right but Archer ducks down to avoid it.

Archer tries to land a front kick but Galt steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Archer throws a sloppy head kick and Galt moves out of range easily.
Galt with the counter takedown but Archer avoids it easily.

Archer connects with a leg kick. Galt looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

and Archer counters with a nice body shot.

Archer lands a big head kick that sends Galt tumbling to the mat! Archer takes a step backwards and waves Galt back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Galt is rocked!
Galt takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
A solid leg kick lands there for Archer.
Archer steps in with a hook that catches Galt right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Archer follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Galt looks absolutely devastated.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Sterling Archer!
