The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Yuuki Gou and Ren Mimura.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kim moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Kim fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Kikaida closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Kikaida lands in his opponent's guard.
Kikaida wants to control from the top but Kim keeps moving.
Kim wants to sweep but no luck.
Kikaida trying to control but Kim is working from the bottom.
Kikaida makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Kim has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kikaida can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Kikaida throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Kim works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Kim is looking to stand up but Kikaida isn't so interested in that idea.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Kikaida shoots in and drives through. Kim sprawls well.
Kim goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Kim lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Kim moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Kim has his takedown stuffed

and Kikaida counters with a shoot takedown. Kim fights it but they end up in guard.

Kikaida chips away with some ground and pound.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Kim is trying to keep Kikaida in close.

Kim looking for a triangle here. Kikaida is fighting it but it looks tight! Kim pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Kikaida is tapping out - this one is all over!
