Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Wasim Kayani (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and JD Wildstein (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kayani comes to the cage accompanied by Audioslave - Exploder. Wildstein has chosen Bring It On as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 28 - 13 - 0, fighting out of New York, Wasim Kayani!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 37 - 16 - 3, fighting out of London, JD Wildstein!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Chris Edwards and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A slapping leg kick lands for Wildstein.
Wildstein throws a jab when Kayani was well out of range.
Wildstein throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.

Kayani bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Kayani is looking to take a break and control but Wildstein is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Kayani lands an elbow.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kayani working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
Wildstein parries the strikes from Kayani easily there. Kayani is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Wildstein to escape.
Kayani trying to control the action but Wildstein is working from the bottom.
Wildstein tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Kayani wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Wildstein sneaks back into half guard.
Kayani has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Kayani not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Wildstein won't allow Kayani to pass to mount.
Kayani works his way into full mount!
Wildstein tries to reverse the position but Kayani maintains control.
Kayani lands a big elbow.
Kayani looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Kayani prevents Wildstein from getting the reversal.
Kayani lands a big shot there that rocks Wildstein but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Wildstein tries to hold on but Kayani pushes him away.
Kayani fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Kayani is landing with some decent strikes but Wildstein is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Kayani cracks Wildstein with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Kayani looking to control but Wildstein is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Kayani lands a heavy elbow.
Wildstein keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Wildstein is trying desperately to improve position.
Kayani takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Kayani lands a couple of good shots and Wildstein has given up his back, trying to escape the position!

Kayani has his opponent trapped and is landing shots. Not a good position for Wildstein.
Wildstein is trying to remain composed but Kayani is hammering down strikes to the side of his head.

Kayani is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Wildstein knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Wildstein for a finish.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kayani lands with a hammerfist to the side of Wildstein's head.

Kayani lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Kayani.

Kayani punches Wildstein on the ear.
Kayani is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Kayani gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Kayani gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Kayani apologises and we restart here on the feet.
Kayani leaves Wildstein with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Kayani throws a series of punches but Wildstein moves out of range.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

and Wildstein counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Wildstein thows a left - swing and a miss!
Sloppy strikes from Kayani. Those never looked like landing.
Kayani throws a body shot but no joy.
Wildstein needs to keep his hands up - Kayani had a free shot at his head there.
Kayani throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Wasim Kayani dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Wildstein stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Kayani misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Wildstein.
Wildstein throws a big shot that misses.
Wildstein fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kayani manages to avoid it.

Wildstein takes the fight into the clinch.
Kayani tries to stall but Wildstein uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Wildstein doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kayani lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Wildstein backwards.

Kayani breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Kayani is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Wildstein can do to turn this around?

Kayani dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Wildstein. That did some damage!

Nice defenses there by Kayani.
Kayani changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Wildstein tries to avoid it but Kayani manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Wildstein to the ground. Wildstein escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Kayani feints and then cracks Wildstein's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Wildstein down.

Kayani displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Wildstein throws out the jab.

Kayani doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Kayani throws out a loose jab but Wildstein uses good head movement to avoid it.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Wildstein.
Kayani loads up on a big right hand but Wildstein slips the punch.
Wildstein scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Kayani fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Wildstein.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to JD Wildstein.
I think Wildstein has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
