Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jon Paul Fish (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryu Musashi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Musashi has chosen Sword of the Stranger - Mukoh Hadan as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 25 - 15 - 2, fighting out of Tokyo, Jon Paul Fish!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 2 - 1, fighting out of New York, Ryu Musashi!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Daniel Franklin and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Musashi misses with a wild combination.
Musashi misses the shot to the body.
Fish was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
A left and a right from Musashi both land. Nice combination.


It looks like Jon Paul Fish has been cut.
Fish slips a jab from Musashi.
Fish throwing a counter right hand but Musashi manages to avoid it.

Musashi misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Fish was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

It looks like Ryu Musashi has been cut.

Our sources have told us that Fish has been working on his elbows in the gym.

Musashi tries to pull guard but Fish forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Fish throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Fish is pushing Musashi up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Musashi has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Fish blocks an uppercut.

Fish lands an elbow inside that Musashi shrugs off.
Musashi tries to work over Fish's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Musashi lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Fish.

Musashi pulls guard successfully.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Musashi manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Fish manages to get himself to full guard.


Fish looking for a guillotine here but Musashi defends easily.

Fish is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Musashi clobbers Fish with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

With the two fighters working up against the cage, Fish just misses with a elbow thrown towards Musashi's brow.
Fish trying to control the position but instead, Musashi has worked for underhooks and has pushed Fish into the cage.
Musashi doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Musashi tries to work over Fish's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Musashi blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Musashi tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Musashi misses with the head strike.
Musashi avoids the elbow strike from Fish, against the cage.
Fish is trying to drag Musashi to the mat but Musashi just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Knees in the clinch landing for Fish.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ryu Musashi dominated that round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

and Musashi counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Fish tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Fish throws a poor cross that misses
and Musashi connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Musashi will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Fish swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Musashi throws a body punch but Fish moves out of range.

A quick step to the side and Fish tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Musashi with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Fish stuffs the takedown.
Fish takes one to the chin there.
Musashi fakes the leg kick and cracks Fish in the body.

Musashi clinches.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Fish.
Fish stalling the fight.
Fish wants to take the fight to the mat but Musashi manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Musashi struggles to land a body shot inside as Fish controls his hands.
Musashi lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Fish backwards.

Musashi misses with a body punch.

Fish swings away with an uppercut that misses.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Fish tries to stall but Musashi uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Musashi pushes Fish against the cage. Musashi is working some dirty boxing. Musashi pushes off with a quick right hook! Fish goes down! Fish tries to stand but stumbles back to his kness! Musashi moves in to finish and the ref steps in to prevent any more damage!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:12 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ryu Musashi!
Ryu Musashi spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
The defeated Jon Paul Fish had this to say: 'Clearly, I've got some things to work on. Thanks to everyone who's supported me thus far.'.
