Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dalvon Bz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Isaac Curtis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Konstantin Menshow and Aleksandr Martynov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bz takes one to the side of the head.
Curtis works the jab nicely.
Curtis misses with a hook to the body
and Bz counters with a stiff right hand.
Curtis misses with an uppercut
and Bz counters with a stiff right hand.
Curtis misses with a wild body shot.
Curtis's coach down at Barbell Brigade - $700 was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Curtis's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Curtis tries to grapple but his opponent circles

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Isaac Curtis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Bz definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Curtis takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Curtis wants to clinch but Bz slips to the side
and Bz makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Curtis misses with a lunging right hand
and Bz counters with a left to the body.
Curtis swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Bz ducks under a wild hook from Curtis.
Bz appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.
A looping hook to the body misses from Curtis. Bz does a little dance to reset his feet.

Bz half committed to a counter leg kick.
Bz lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Curtis darts in and out, connecting with a jab.

Curtis fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Bz manages to avoid it.
Bz quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect.
Curtis misses with a body punch
and Bz finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.
Curtis misses with a right hand
and Bz connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dalvon Bz dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Curtis feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Bzs jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

and Curtis takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Bz slips a straight right by Curtis.
Bz lands with a kick to the ribs.

Bz is rocked!
Bz walks straight into a right hand from Curtis - that's dropped him! Curtis jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Bz from any more punishment! Bz complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:52 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Isaac Curtis! Isaac Curtis retains his lightweight title!
A very excited looking Isaac Curtis made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
