Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Israel Ornellas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Earl Allen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Israel Ornellas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Earl Allen!
The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Felipe Paraventi and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ornellas instigates a clinch.

Ornellas pulls guard.
Ornellas is trying to keep Allen in close.
Allen wants to control from the top but Ornellas keeps moving.
Allen looking to pass the guard.

Allen drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Allen jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Ornellas has his foot on Allen's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Allen works his way back into a safe position though.
Allen wants to get up but he can't break Ornellas's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Allen is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Ornellas trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Ornellas looking for a sweep. Not yet Ornellas, not yet.

Allen tries to free his leg and advance position but Ornellas is retaining full guard.
Ornellas wants to stand and escape but Allen is having none of it.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Ornellas gets a takedown into half guard.

Ornellas is trying to work for a kimura but Allen is defending well.

Allen is looking for a sweep. Ornellas is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Allen is not content to let Ornellas control the position.
Allen is looking to improve his position.
Allen moves into full guard.
Allen keeping moving, preventing Ornellas from controlling successfully.

Allen has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Ornellas shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Allen napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Allen manages to work his way to half guard, despite Ornellas's best efforts.
Allen missing with punches from the bottom.
Allen is pressing down on Ornellas's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Ornellas won't allow Allen to sweep him here.
Ornellas trying to control but Allen is working from the bottom.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Allen wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!



Ornellas closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Allen to the mat! Allen manages to get full guard.
Allen looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Ornellas trying to control the position from guard on top but Allen is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Allen is adopting a defensive guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Allen is trying to control the position but Ornellas postures up.

Allen has Ornellas pulled in close to control his posture.
Ornellas stopping the sweep attempt from Allen.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Ornellas gets the takedown into side control.
The ground and pound from Ornellas seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Allen is trying to improve his position.

Allen is trying to control Ornellas's posture but Ornellas avoids it.
Allen tries to buck Ornellas off but Ornellas is having none of it.
Ornellas looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Allen is avoiding damage well.
Allen regains half guard there - taking advantage of Ornellas's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.

Allen looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Ornellas trying to mount his opponent but Allen defends it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Allen is staying active underneath Ornellas, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Ornellas is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Allen has managed to free his arm - good work.

Allen is defending against the submission attempts here by Ornellas.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Allen is looking for a sweep. Ornellas is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Allen is doing well to control the position and prevent Ornellas from advancing to side control.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Ornellas decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Allen is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Ornellas's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Ornellas's back!

Allen is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Ornellas has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Allen has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Ornellas taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Allen doesn't care though - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Earl Allen!
