PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between The Hulk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Valentine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Valentine is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Ice Cream Paintjob . The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Valentine clinches.
Valentine lands a nice elbow from the clinch.

It looks like The Hulk has been cut.

Valentine breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Valentine tries a head kick but it misses.
Hulk closes this distance looking for a takedown but Valentine circles away.

so Hulk counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Hulk stops Valentine from standing up.
Valentine wants to control the position but Hulk says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Hulk with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Valentine wants to get back to full guard but Hulk has mounted him!

Hulk has control of Valentine's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Valentine regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Valentine wants to hold on but Hulk pushes him away.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Valentine is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Hulk is staying active.
Hulk really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Hulk takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Hulk will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Valentine tries to hold on but Hulk pushes him away.

Hulk seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Valentine for as long as he can get away with.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Hulk avoids the attempt from Valentine to control.
Valentine can't escape the position.
Valentine is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Hulk controlling the pace for now.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Hulk has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Valentine tries to buck Hulk off but Hulk takes his back!
Valentine manages to reverse the position and now he's in Hulk's guard. Nice work there by Valentine.
Valentine tries to stand but Hulk is controlling from the bottom.

Hulk pulls Valentine in close to prevent any damage.
Hulk wants to sweep but no luck.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee stands the fighters back up. The Hulk just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Valentine tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Hulk counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Hulk's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Hulk's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Valentine is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Valentine is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Hulk passes Valentine's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Hulk is thwarting Valentine's attempts to control the position.
Hulk looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Hulk has isolated one of Valentine's arms. Valentine looking to fight him off but Hulk twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!
