PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Noli Santander (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jum Tigre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tigre has chosen Queens of the Stoneage - 3´s & 7´s as his entrance music. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice takedown defense from Tigre. No joy for Santander on that attempt.
Jum Tigre seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Tigre lands a high kick!
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Tigre, right into the meat.
Santander has a takedown stuffed.
Santander blocks a head kick by Tigre.
Horrible takedown by Santander or perhaps it was just good defense by Tigre which made him look bad.

Santander tries to close the distance and clinch but Tigre swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Tigre throws a head kick but Santander moves out of range.

and Santander counters with a nice double leg into side control. Tigre won't be happy with that.
Santander is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Tigre's shoulder. That is not cool.

Santander looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Tigre is looking for a sweep.

Tigre is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Santander has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Santander wants to lay and pray for a moment but Tigre keeps working.

Santander working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Santander has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Tigre's face.
Tigre is looking to improve his position but Santander isn't that keen on the idea.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Santander connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Tigre looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back!
Santander has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Tigre's body.
Santander lands a punch that was close to the back of the head but the ref thinks it's OK.
Santander scores with punches and elbows.
Santander biding his time, looking for the opening.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Santander connects with a nice short shot to Tigre's temple.

Santander uses his free foot to push down on Tigre's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Tigre.

Santander cracks Tigre with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Santander connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Santander has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Santander swings around for an armbar and he's got it! Wow, that came out of nowhere! What a finish!
