Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Darwingh Alvarez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 14 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Moneybags!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, George Francis and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Moneybags misses with a few strikes there.
Alvarez takes one to the side of the head.
Alvarez pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Moneybags moves into range and connects with a jab.
Moneybags scores with a hook to the body. Alvarez takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Moneybags lands a body shot.

Moneybags closes the distance and pushes Alvarez back into the cage.

Moneybags breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Alvarez misses with a lunging right hand
and Moneybags counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Alvarez misses with a takedown
and Moneybags counters with a left to the body.
Alvarez tries to clinch but Moneybags moves out of range.
It seemed like Moneybags was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Moneybags circles away from the clinch attempt
and Moneybags counters with a stiff right hand.

A jab from Moneybags finds it's way through Alvarez's defenses.
Alvarez pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Moneybags lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
Moneybags lands a left hand.
Moneybags works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.

Moneybags breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Alvarez tries for a takedown but Moneybags sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Moneybags thows a body kick. Alvarez tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Alvarez takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Alvarez misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Moneybags lands a lovely overhand right.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Alvarez moves to clinch but Moneybags breaks away
and Moneybags counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Alvarez gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Moneybags counters with a left to the body.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Darwingh Alvarez. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Alvarez is breathing heavily.
Alvarez drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

Moneybags gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
A nice right hand lands inside from Moneybags.
Moneybags digs a right hand into Alvarez's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Alvarez's gas tank.

Moneybags lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

Alvarez falls off balance throwing a combination
and Moneybags counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Oh Alvarez is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Alvarez seems to have got his legs back now.
Moneybags lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Moneybags lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Moneybags has Alvarez pushed against the cage.
Moneybags gets through Alvarez's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
A short body shot lands from Moneybags as the two fighters clinch.
Moneybags lands with a light punch inside.

Moneybags breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Alvarez moves to clinch but Moneybags breaks away
and Moneybags cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Alvarez fails with a takedown attempt.
Moneybags lands with a slapping head kick.
Alvarez tries to clinch
and Moneybags makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Alvarez really felt that one!

Moneybags has Alvarez up against the cage in a clinch.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Alvarez takes a shot to the head.
Moneybags has been looking to improve his clinch game in recent weeks. Alvarez seems to have the measure of him in the clinch so far, so let's see if Moneybags can turn it around.
Alvarez tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Moneybags just stands there and leans against the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Moneybags dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Moneybags's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Moneybags changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Moneybags has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Moneybags thuds a left hand into Alvarez's body.
Alvarez throws a lazy body kick
and Moneybags counters with a slapping leg kick.
Moneybags lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.

Alvarez forces Moneybags back against the cage and clinches.
Moneybags working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
Moneybags lands a body shot in the clinch.
Moneybags lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Alvarez backwards.
John Moneybags seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Moneybags scores with a nice hook to the head.
Alvarez fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Moneybags drops Alvarez onto one knee with a big uppercut from the clinch! Alvarez is propped up by the cage and works his way back to his feet!

Alvarez tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Alvarez is trying to pull guard but Moneybags turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Darwingh Alvarez. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Moneybags is pressed up against the cage. Alvarez has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Moneybags down to the mat. Moneybags avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
A chopping leg kick lands by Moneybags.
Alvarez throws a body kick despite being completely out of range
and Moneybags scores with a counter punch that sends Alvarez to the canvas! Moneybags smells blood - he's punishing Alvarez with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Alvarez has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!
