Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Joe Hogan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnson Blu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hogan's entrance music is Smoke Serpent. A fine choice. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Joe Hogan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Johnson Blu!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and .




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fighters circle momentarily. Blu darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Hogan throws a head kick that looked like it stung.


It looks like Johnson Blu has been cut.
Hogan misses with a head kick.
Johnson Blu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Blu lands a two punch combo.
Hogan pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Hogan walks into a jab.

Blu fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Hogan to the ground. Blu is now in Hogan's guard.
Blu really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hogan. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hogan is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hogan looking for subs off his back but Blu has passed one foot through into half guard.
Blu content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Blu prevents Hogan from improving his position.
Still in half guard, Blu seems content to control.
Hogan wants to get back to full guard but Blu has mounted him!
Hogan keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Hogan looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

Blu get's back to his feet.

Blu shoots in and bounces Hogan off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Hogan wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Blu manages to pass to side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hogan is trying to get back to full guard.
Hogan is trying to control but Blu passes into side control!
Blu moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.

Blu working away.
Blu controls the position.
Blu has control of an arm but Hogan manages to advance to Blu's back!

Blu manages to stand up with Hogan still on his back. Eventually Hogan drops to his feet and we're back in the standing position.

Blu gets the takedown into side control.
Hogan is looking to get back to his feet here but Blu is keeping cool and he's managed to take Hogan's back.
Hogan is breathing heavily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Blu has good solid back control here.
Hogan tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!

Blu controlling from mount.
Blu's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
More stalling from Blu.
Blu won't let Hogan get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.

Blu looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Hogan is trying to stand but he's not in a good position to be doing that! Blu has taken his back!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Blu takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Blu fails with a takedown attempt.
Blu throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Hogan shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Blu blocks a head kick by Hogan.
Both fighters circling a little - Hogan finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Hogan takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Blu throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Hogan tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Hogan misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Hogan goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Hogan takes one on the chin but seems OK.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Blu blocks a head kick by Hogan.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Hogan throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Johnson Blu seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Blu closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Hogan to the mat! Hogan manages to get full guard.

Blu sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Hogan's guard.

Blu is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Hogan has managed to free his arm - good work.
Hogan tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Blu has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
Blu controlling from mount.

Hogan is working to get back to half guard.
Blu controlling his opponent.
Blu takes Hogan's back.
Blu controls the action.
Hogan can't escape the position.

Blu keeps control of the position easily here as Hogan tries to buck him off.
Blu controlling well, preventing Hogan from escaping the position.

Hogan trying to get back to his feet but Blu is in full control for now.

Blu controlling the position well here. Hogan rolled but Blu kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Hogan rolls, trying to escape but Blu keeps control of the position.
Johnson Blu has got the better of the ground game so far.
Hogan is working hard here to advance position.
Blu trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Hogan doesn't escape.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Hogan trying to control the position but Blu manages to sink in the hooks.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Johnson Blu showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!



Blu bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Blu staying calm.
Hogan manages to get back to half guard.
Blu prevents Hogan from improving his position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hogan works his way to full guard. Good work.
Hogan is looking to stand up but Blu isn't so interested in that idea.

Hogan tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Hogan is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Blu preventing the sweep.
Hogan controls Blu momentarily but Blu frees himself.
Blu stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hogan swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Blu is stalling in the full guard.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Hogan pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Blu scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Hogan tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Hogan shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Hogan throws a head kick that misses.
Blu appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
Hogan on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Blu moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.


Hogan is rocked!
Blu lands an uppercut out of nowhere! Hogan falls backwards - clearly groggy! Blu dives in and finishes the fight with more strikes for a TKO finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:45 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Johnson Blu!
The defeated Joe Hogan had this to say: 'My opponent was not USADA drug tested, I'm just saying.'.
