PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Stacey Mueller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Knip Ball (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ball comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Break Ya Neck kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ball feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Mueller seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Ball controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Ball makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ball is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Mueller had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Ball defends it easily.
Ball cracks Mueller with a solid left hand.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mueller is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Ball can do anything to dispel that myth.

Mueller knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Ball on the ground.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Ball has one foot on Mueller's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Mueller looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Ball shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Mueller is trying to defend but Ball finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Ball lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Mueller quite badly. Mueller pulls Ball in close trying to recover. Ball postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Mueller on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Mueller doesn't seem to be complaining too much.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:53 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Knip Ball!
After winning the bout, Knip Ball thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
