The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Simone wants to clinch.
Reeves appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.

Reeves moves into range and clinches up with Simone.
Simone is trying to pull guard but Reeves turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Reeves is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Reeves tries a knee to the head but Simone blocks it.
Reeves really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Simone has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Reeves is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Sang Reeves has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jack Simone.
Reeves using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Simone has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Simone jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Reeves walks away with a smile on his face. Simone gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Simone slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
It looks like Simone might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Simone is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Simone tries to close the distance and clinch but Reeves swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Reeves throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

and Reeves counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Simone throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
It appears Reeves was looking to counter with a kick there.

Reeves closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Simone tries to pull guard but Reeves holds him up against the cage and eventually Simone drops back down to his feet.
Reeves lands a nice uppercut.
Reeves throws a punch but it's blocked by Simone.
Come on Simone - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Simone tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Reeves just stands there and leans against the cage.

Simone is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Reeves gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Simone takes a knee to the side of the body.
Reeves tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Simone fails to pull guard.
Simone tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Reeves smiles and moves away.
Simone fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Reeves wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
