The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A jab from Hanma finds it's way through Jaatinen's defenses.

It looks like Leif Jaatinen has been cut.

A head kick lands from Hanma that sends Jaatinen to the canvas. Jaatinen tries to scramble back to his feet but Hanma brings him back down into side control.

Leif Jaatinen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Hanma swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Hanma tries for a takedown but Jaatinen sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
A jab-cross combination lands for Jaatinen and sends Hanma crashing to the mat! Jaatinen follows him down to the mat - Hanma regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Jaatinen wants to pass the guard but Hanma is defending well.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Hanma is looking for a sweep. Jaatinen is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Hanma wants to control but Jaatinen is keeping busy.

Hanma throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Hanma takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

That has opened up Yonjiro Hanma's cut even more.
Hanma closes the distance and clinches up with Jaatinen, looking for a takedown. Hanma pushes Jaatinen against the ropes but Jaatinen circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Jaatinen drops Hanma with a right and a left! Jaatinen comes rushing in but Hanma regains his composure and manages to keep Jaatinen in guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Jaatinen is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Jaatinen wants to control from the top but Hanma keeps moving.

Hanma can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Jaatinen controls the pace.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Jaatinen.
Jaatinen takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Leif Jaatinen's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Hanma. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.
Hanma connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Jaatinen takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Hanma seems to be stalking Jaatinen here. He circles momentarily and then unleashes a devastatic head kick! Jaatinen drops like a stone, out cold! WOW! Are you kidding me!? What a knockout!
