PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Alguem Bom (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mathew Lacey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Alguem Bom!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Arvi Lind and Johanna Lukiainen.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A combination from Lacey does no damage.
Lacey throws a series of punches but Bom avoids them all with ease.
Bom misses with the combination.
Bom dodges the punch combination from Lacey.
Lacey misses the shot to the body.
Lacey throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Bom on the side of the head.

Bom clinches up against the cage.
Lacey is trying to break free.
Lacey keeps control of Bom as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Lacey escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Lacey moves out of range of the body kick from Bom.
Bom misses with a two punch combination.
Bom lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Lacey circles away quickly and effectively.
Nice shot lands for Lacey.
Lacey lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Bom shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Lacey throws a leg kick but Bom checks it.
Bom throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Lacey.
Bom pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
A jab-cross combination lands for Lacey and sends Bom crashing to the mat! Lacey follows him down to the mat - Bom regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!

Bom is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Lacey lands a big elbow - Bom is out of it! He's waving his arms around but his eyes are closed and he's not intelligently defending himself - the ref has no choice but to jump in and stop the fight! This one is in the books! A TKO win for Lacey!
