Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Sam Brunt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ethan Miles!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Yasuomi Hirokawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Miles instigates a clinch.
Brunt manages to break the clinch.
Miles takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Brunt looks to land a combination. Miles sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
It looks like Ethan Miles has been cut.
Brunt drives through and clinches with Miles against the ropes.
Miles will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Brunt up against the ropes.
Miles is working for a takedown up against the ropes. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Brunt stalling against the ropes.
Miles tries to pull guard but Brunt won't allow it.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Brunt has had enough of the clinch but Miles keeps him there for the moment.
Miles keeps control of Brunt as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
A right hook to the body lands for Miles.
Brunt takes a knee right on the jaw!
Miles manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Miles is looking for a triangle but Brunt pushes his legs off easily.
Miles looking for a guillotine here but Brunt defends easily.
Brunt wants to pass the guard but Miles is keeping the position.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Brunt tries to stand but Miles is controlling from the bottom.
Miles has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Brunt can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Miles has his foot on Brunt's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Brunt works his way back into a safe position though.
Miles looks gassed!
Miles looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Brunt passes into side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Miles tries to bench press Brunt off him but Brunt keeps the position.
Brunt decides to stand back up.
Brunt is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Miles takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Brunt clinches up against the ropes.
Brunt is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the ropes.
Brunt can't break the clinch.
Brunt prevents a takedown attempt there.
Sam Brunt has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ethan Miles.
Brunt lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Miles backwards.
Brunt gets control of Miles's arms and successfully pulls guard. Brunt will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Brunt wants to improve his position but instead Miles has moved into half guard.
Brunt has one foot on Miles's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Brunt throws a combination. Miles tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Brunt closes the distance and lands a one-two.
That has opened up Ethan Miles's cut even more.
Brunt throws a series of strikes that have Miles backpedaling.
Miles is rocked!
Brunt cracks Miles on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Miles falls backwards against the ropes. Brunt follows up with more strikes that drop Miles to his knees. Brunt keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Miles! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Sam Brunt!
