PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Robert Rogowski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jonathan Jovi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jovi is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Bad Medicine. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Jonathan Jovi!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Sam Margolis and Andrew Berry.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rogowski closes the distance and clinches up with Jovi, looking for a takedown. Rogowski pushes Jovi against the cage but Jovi circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Rogowski looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Jovi will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Rogowski fails with the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Robert Rogowski. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A looping hook to the body misses from Jovi. Rogowski does a little dance to reset his feet.
Jovi looks to score with a jab to the body but Rogowski is just out of range.
Rogowski changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Jovi uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

It looks like Robert Rogowski has been cut.
Jovi ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Rogowski moves away.
Jovi punishes Rogowski's body with a nice straight punch.

Rogowski checks the leg kick nicely there.
Jovi looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
No luck for Rogowski with that takedown attempt.
Jovi swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Rogowski.

Rogowski walks into a jab.
The crowd cheers as Jovi lands an impressive looking overhand right. Rogowski doesn't seem phased though.

Rogowski has his takedown stuffed
and Jovi counters with a huge left! Rogowski is in big trouble! He's backing up but Jovi isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Rogowski from any more damage. A dominating finish by Jovi!

After the fight, Jonathan Jovi was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
