Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Danny Mcmahon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vitor Salmo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Salmo throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Salmo pushes Mcmahon up against the cage in a clinch.

Salmo pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Mcmahon looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Salmo is fending him off so far but Mcmahon persists. Nope, Salmo circles away and we're back to standing.

Mcmahon has closed the distance and engaged Salmo in a clinch.

Vitor Salmo dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Mcmahon moves in looking to clinch but Salmo pushes him off.

Salmo drops his hands momentarily and Mcmahon takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Nice takedown defense from Salmo. No joy for Mcmahon on that attempt.
Salmo has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Salmo throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Mcmahon was covering up waiting for the punch and Salmo finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Mcmahon is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Salmo presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Salmo tries to score with some ground and pound. Mcmahon controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Salmo remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Salmo has Mcmahon pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Salmo pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Mcmahon tumbling to the mat - Salmo dives into Mcmahon's guard.

Well Salmo has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
