Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Coy Grant (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Patryk Kalacinski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Patryk Kalacinski is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Coy Grant!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Patryk Kalacinski!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Franklyn Lucas and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kalacinski forces Grant back against the cage and clinches.
Grant fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Kalacinski throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Grant blocks it with crossed arms.
Kalacinski misses with the head strike.
Grant could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Kalacinski pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Kalacinski dives in and grabs Grant's left leg, looking for a takedown. Grant pushes down on Kalacinski's head and hops out.

Kalacinski clinches up with Grant and pushes him back against the cage.

Kalacinski gets control of Grant's arms and successfully pulls guard. Kalacinski will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Grant tries for a takedown. No joy.
Grant jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Kalacinski walks away with a smile on his face. Grant gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Coy Grant. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Grant has Kalacinski pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Grant pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Kalacinski tumbling to the mat - Grant dives into Kalacinski's guard.
Grant keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Kalacinski's head.

Nice takedown defense from Grant. No joy for Kalacinski on that attempt.
As Kalacinski tries to get set, Grant tries to push him back and clinch up but Kalacinski manages to avoid the attempt.
Kalacinski shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Grant defends it nicely.
Kalacinski misses with a head kick.

Kalacinski moves into the clinch successfully.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Kalacinski gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Grant.
Kalacinski lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

Kalacinski kicks off Grant and gets to his feet.
Kalacinski darts in looking for a takedown but Grant gets double underhooks and turns Kalacinski into the cage.
Grant seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.

Kalacinski dives in for a single leg takedown but Grant sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Grant tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Kalacinski manages to circle out of the way.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Kalacinski jumps guard but Grant turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Grant has Kalacinski pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Kalacinski manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Grant fails to pull guard.
Grant is looking to take this one to the mat.

Kalacinski pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Kalacinski rushes Grant and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Grant is pressed up against the cage. Kalacinski has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Grant down to the mat. Grant avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Grant darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Grant is trying to drag Kalacinski to the mat but Kalacinski just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Grant gets control of Kalacinski's arms and successfully pulls guard. Grant will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Grant not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Grant manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Kalacinski manages to get himself to full guard.

Coy Grant overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Grant decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Grant tries to score a power double leg takedown but Kalacinski sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Grant somewhat.
Kalacinski tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Coy Grant is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Grant shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Kalacinski's guard.

Kalacinski has momentary wrist control but Grant slips an elbow through the middle.

Grant stands up and waves to Kalacinski to follow him.
Kalacinski shoots for a double leg takedown but Grant sprawls well. He's pushed Kalacinski's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Coy Grant has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Patryk Kalacinski.

Grant wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Kalacinski, who protects the arm well.
Grant has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Grant tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Grant has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Kalacinski is looking for a sweep.

Grant decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Kalacinski looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Grant is fending him off so far but Kalacinski persists. Nope, Grant circles away and we're back to standing.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Kalacinski throws a head kick that misses.
Grant tries to counter by clinching up but Kalacinski breaks away and moves out of range.

Kalacinski darts in and clinches Grant up against the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Grant holds on and takes a little breather.

Grant working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kalacinski doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Kalacinski manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Kalacinski wants to lay and pray for a moment but Grant keeps working.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Grant is trying to maintain the position but Kalacinski is very close to passing his half guard.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Kalacinski pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Grant leaves Kalacinski with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

And that's the end of the fight!
Patryk Kalacinski comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Kalacinski has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
