Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jesse Mathis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Arthur Aldowski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Arthur Aldowski will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jesse Mathis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Arthur Aldowski!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Kenichi Hosakawa and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A solid leg kick lands there for Aldowski.
Aldowski throws a lazy head kick

and Mathis counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Aldowski is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Mathis's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Mathis's back!
Mathis just trying to survive but Aldowski is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.

Aldowski has got his arm under Mathis's chin working for the choke… has he got it? It looks pretty tight! Oh! Mathis has spun round into Aldowski's guard beautifully! Well done that man!

Aldowski is working an open guard so Mathis takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Aldowski throws a right and a left that both miss.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Aldowski darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Aldowski thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Aldowski is looking to stall here but Mathis recovers full guard.
Aldowski trying to control the position from guard on top but Mathis is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Mathis is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Aldowski stands up over Mathis, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Mathis keeping full guard, as Aldowski tries to pass.
Aldowski wants to control from the top but Mathis keeps moving.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Aldowski postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Mathis manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Aldowski manages to get himself to full guard.

Aldowski looking to hit a scissor sweep but Mathis is one step ahead there.
Mathis postures up in Aldowski's guard and throws a big left but Aldowski blocks it.
Mathis could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Mathis is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Mathis decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Aldowski lands a two punch combo.

Mathis gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Aldowski to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Mathis pushes Aldowski off and scrambles back to his feet.
Aldowski swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Aldowski swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Mathis is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
Aldowski throws a body kick despite being completely out of range
and Mathis counters with a left and a right that stings Aldowski.
Aldowski misses with a low kick.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Aldowski throws a series of punches but Mathis moves out of range.
Aldowski looks winded!
Aldowski throws a head kick that misses.
Mathis appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Aldowski tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
A counter left hand to the body from Mathis misses its target.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Mathis dives in and scores a takedown into Aldowski's guard.
Mathis throwing strikes but missing.
Aldowski is trying to control the position but Mathis postures up.
Mathis trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Aldowski is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Mathis stands up and waves to Aldowski to follow him.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Jesse Mathis will probably get the nod.
That's time! Mathis's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


No joy there for Aldowski, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Mathis changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Aldowski tries to avoid it but Mathis manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Aldowski to the ground. Aldowski escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Aldowski shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Mathis manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Mathis has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Aldowski has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
Mathis creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Aldowski's defenses.
Mathis lands an elbow inside.
Mathis tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Aldowski avoids it.
Aldowski wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Mathis presses Aldowski against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Mathis lands a damaging elbow.
Mathis misses with an elbow strike.
Mathis is looking to take this one to the mat.

Aldowski lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Mathis is refusing to be controlled, as Aldowski sits in half guard.
Mathis trying to control from the bottom.
Mathis is holding on to half guard well.

Mathis actively working from the bottom here.
Aldowski is just content to waste time from the top position. Mathis takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Mathis has Aldowski pulled in close to control his posture.

Mathis seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Arthur Aldowski seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mathis takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.


It looks like Jesse Mathis has been cut.
A head kick from Aldowski lands but Mathis takes it in his stride.
Arthur Aldowski is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Mathis darts in and clinches Aldowski up against the cage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Mathis tries for a takedown but Aldowski manages to get underhooks.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jesse Mathis. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Aldowski gets control of Mathis's arms and successfully pulls guard. Aldowski will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Aldowski is breathing heavily.

Aldowski is looking to cinch up a triangle. Mathis throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Aldowski's body to avoid the submission. Aldowski has instead reached around Mathis's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Aldowski arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:32 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Arthur Aldowski!
Arthur Aldowski decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
