PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ein Stein (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kira Miyata (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Miyata has chosen Boa - Energetic as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 30 - 13 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ein Stein!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kira Miyata!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Daniel Bishop and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stein shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Miyata sprawls well. Miyata wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Stein gets slowly back to his feet.
Miyata goes for a double leg but Stein avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Stein continues to drive forward.
Miyata fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Stein manages to avoid it.
Stein looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Stein on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
The fight stays on the outside here - Stein looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Miyata avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Miyata throws a push kick but Stein slaps the foot to one side.

Miyata lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Stein dives in for a single leg takedown but Miyata sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

It seemed like Miyata was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Miyata closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Stein is looking for a sweep. Miyata is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Miyata drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Miyata jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Stein shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Stein was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
